6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis has been the most amazing school for both my children. All the teachers and staff exude such positive, excited, infectious attitudes towards learning. They are all very invested in every child's success. One of my children is very gifted, while the other has struggled, and both of them have gotten what they needed from this school- either a challenge or extra help. I have always felt supported as a parent. Many parents support the school and come out to the events; it's a strong pillar in the community. We have been to 3 different school districts in the upstate (Pickens, Greenville and now ADS1), and this by far to me is the best. The principal knows all the children and makes it a point to call them by name, and make them feel loved and important. The only thing that I think needs to be addressed is perhaps a bit more homework. Also spelling should have been a focal point as well, but they have seen that, and are making that adjustment this year. They did an excellent job during Covid-19 and having to suddenly do learning from home, too. I felt that they kept us informed and had some good practices in place for teaching, questions, and making sure the students all had their assignments and understood them. "While it is required to have your dog either on a leash for a walk, tethered outside, or fenced into the yard for their daily workout, there are plenty of pet friendly environments around town where your dog can enjoy themselves and others. "

"This area is beautiful. The schools are all within a mile, the neighborhood looks like a golf course on a large lake/reservoir, and it is centered directly between Greenville and Anderson. Shopping is close enough, but not so close that traffic and overcrowding is a problem."

"This is a very quiet, low crime town. It has good schools and a very nice park. The Mexican, Chinese and Clock Drive In restaurants have great food. There are several fast food places like Subway, Little Ceaser's Pizza and Burger King here. It has very few places to shop except Fred's, Family Dollar and General Dollar Store but it is only 20 minutes to Anderson for plenty of shopping places and plenty of good restaurants and things to do for entertainment. If you are looking for a nice quiet and safe small town then Williamston should be on your list."
