5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSouth Scranton Intermediate School Scranton PA 18505--I think school is one of the best middle schools in Scranton. My daughter is just starting out in this school and she loves it. She loves the fact they can switch classes and have different teachers for different classes. The way they can improve in their scheduling of classes not so far from each other b/c as I followed my daughter's schedule on back to school night I now understand why she she is late for wood shop coming from gym class!!! Gym class being down 3 hallways and then 4 sets of stairs to make it to the basemen in one minute and 30 seconds. I wasn't the only teacher who arrived huffing and puffing by the time the bell rang and we were 5-10 minutes late. Just saying maybe schedule some classes near each other b/c this was a very difficult task. thank you Marilou TalaricoParent Review10y ago - John G Whittier #2

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter was discriminated against because of her age and was lowered to second grade when she had passed it and was supposed to be a third grader. Plus nobody called to tell me I learned about when she arrived home crying. And she was supposed to have an ESL teacher witch she never got. I went to the district nothing was done still waiting for the superintendent to call me. I ended up withdrawing my daughter and moving the experience was horrible.Parent Review8y ago - Scranton High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTerrible. I graduated from this school with all As and Bs. When I got to college I was immediately behind. An A at this school is equivalent to a C at better schools. Just look at the test averages,. As for leadership and character building, this school is apathetic to development of its students. Fortunately I had good parenting at home that helped with this.Other Review6y ago - Check out schools near 308 N Irving Ave.
