7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a staff member and former parent of this school, I am unbelievably proud of the change this school has made in 5 years. This school embarked on a journey to become an ELITE STEM school to provide students with the best foundation to enter the work force in STEM FIELDS. This year this school was awarded a prestigious HONOR from Magnet Schools of America as CERTIFIED MAGNET SCHOOL. This required over 400 pieces of evidence about the magnet program and the data of the school. The school has partnerships with Clemson University for a National Science Foundation Grant where the school and professors from Clemson wrote data science units that are unique to this area. The program was designed for 3-5 grades. However, MAST and this team were able to write units for GRADES k4-2 as well. The school also recieved an award as a Project Lead the Way Distinguished School. All students complete 4 PLTW units each year. The BIGGEST AWARD of ALL was getting the first ever EXCELLENT rating in school history on the SC REPORT.The school has excellent teachers, students, parents, and community members that embrace teaching the whole child. The school also works really hard at creating STUDENTS WITH ACADEMIC GOALS. This stands for SWAG the students earn rewards and celebrations for meeting goals. This helps students understand the importance of meeting goals. The school also believes in allowing for FAILURE as it is believed to be your FIRST ATTEMPT IN LEARNING. The students won't be left to fail but are allowed to have productive struggle with the help of skilled educators.WE LOVE MAST! It is a wonderful school!Other Review1mo ago - Richard H. "Great area. Wyatt Oaks is a safe and quiet area. Friendly people and nice houses. Big yards. Been here 18 years and never had a problem.
