8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a guardian of a current student at this school, this student is being bullied and none of the teachers are doing anything about it. It was already pretty bad that the teachers aren't doing anything about the bullying, but it is worse that the teachers did not let this student tell their family members about it because they say that it will make it a bigger deal. It is not alright for a teacher to tell their student to not call their parent because of it will ruin their school reputation. The teachers dealing with this problem says that they will be able to fix the problem but they didn't do anything. Now this student is afraid to go to school because the bullies threathens to jump this student and call their friends over to also bully and join in. Also, the bullies didn't get in trouble because the teacher said that he did not see it happen. This isn't the first time this student was bullied but the first time, there was at least one teacher that tried to solve the problem but she left so now this student is having trouble solving this new problem. As for learning, teaching, and other parts of reviewing a school, if students don't feel safe then they obviously would not feel motivated or excited about learning and other activities.Parent Review1y ago - Spruce Street School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is lacking in many areas. Don't be fooled by the new exterior. The biggest problem area of all is leadership which is very poor. The principal hides many issues such as bullying and other events that happen in the building that she continuously keeps from the parents. Teachers here don't take the time or even care to make subjects more interesting. Zero effort in class just for show when parents come around for 30 minutes twice the school year to sit in class. Repeating a lesson to them is an absolute hassle and the blame falls on the kids all the time. They don't strive to help, they want to leave as soon as possible. My kids came in 2017 and since being very excited about the teachers back at the beginning we have seen a huge decline in all the years up till now 2023. The music teacher has been replaced 3 times and the current one is still completely horrible, lacking any skill to teach at all. Students watch cartoon movies in class constantly! She gave a 20-minute recital with minimal effort on her part. It lacked substance and was a complete letdown and a waste of time to come in mid-day work hours. Years back at the beginning a recital concert was an hour long and the students learned a lot, that's back in 2017. The Art teacher has also been replaced 5 times. In the beginning, there used to be some type of art show but now Art at this school is none existent. The (PTA) keep asking for money and contributions but where it all gets spent is a complete mystery because they offer nothing of value for many years now! I absolutely would not recommend this school to anyone.Parent Review10mo ago - Check out schools near 30 Park Pl.

"Dogs are welcomed everywhere there’s even a dog park not too far away. There’s also a few stores you can bring them in with you. Only bad thing is some people don’t pick up after their dogs and that’s gross. Oh and the dogs that meet on the street are usually pretty friendly with each other as well."

"Love TriBeCa after growing up in the east village and then living in Soho, TriBeCa is a quiet escape!"
- penquinbum

"Having lived elsewhere in Manhattan, I've fallen in love with Tribeca. It has everything I need, a great Whole foods to relieve me of my pay check and from what I have been told, an excellent elementary school. My condo is walking distance to work (FIDI) and is convenient to public transit. I live about 5 minutes from the esplanade along the Hudson...I just cross over at Murray and can go walk, sit in the park, or if I ever get up the nerve, play some basketball in all that green space and parks. Lots of restaurants, including 3 decent Irish pubs, also on Murray. It may not appeal to the younger, single folks but we do seem to have lots of young families in the area. NYC is a city of neighborhoods. Tribeca is a great one."
- Mona A.

"I live here and work nearby. Agree with other reviewers that it is up and coming but not quite there. Its too quiet at night and the restaurant options, though fantastic are too slim! that being said, i love my building and how clean and safe the streets are. The opening of the Smyth Hotel and the W is encouraging."
