4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm going to tackle this as nicely as I can, but there isn't a lot of nice things to say. I am a current student at GMHS, class of 2026.. and I absolutely hate this school! I'm never excited to learn, because papers, google classroom assignments, random projects, and so much more are all shoved down my throat with no second thought! I am falling behind with my academics and I'm scared I won't graduate, but that doesn't matter to the staff team. Good luck trying to talk to the counselors, because you can't unless you book an appointment. And every single time I have went to book one, it's always over a week ahead. I tried booking one earlier this week (12/4/23) regarding my academics, and there's no openings until this upcoming Tuesday (12/12/23). And midterms are on the 12th and 13th, then after that it's the end of the grading period! Because of this school, I feel like my life is over. I feel as if I can't achieve what I want to in life. The staff are not encouraging me to push towards my dream of art, they just want me to sit down, shut up, and do their realistic 3d model cell project that's due in two days. (Yes, this actually happened.) Regarding the students, I have met some really nice people; But the majority is absolutely awful. There are fights almost every day, and if not every day, it's at LEAST once a week. They put Evolv weapons detectors in this year, and they're awful as well. They slow down the process of actually getting inside, and all the other students are pressed up against each other trying to get inside and away from the cold.
