3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a 2017 graduate. Although the academic education was not great, the students had good heads on their shoulders. I never witnessed bullying or harassment. The student body was like a family, all having dealt with similar traumas, that we understood our peers. i made so many more friends at North than I would have at East.Parent Review3y ago - Check out schools near 2616 Bowdoin St.

"Wonderful older established affordable neighborhood. Nice trees, nice neighbors, nice homes. Most homes in the area have original woodwork, wood floors, built ins. The area is great for all; singles, couples, families, retirees. A great mix of ages. Low crime. My grandmother lived in this area for many years. My parents have owned three homes in the area over the years. Still a favorite area in East Des Moines. Close to downtown, restaurants, shopping, easy access to most main highways. Centrally located. Give it a look."

"Union Park Neighborhoods bounty of older classic homes at affordable prices, it's proximity to the East Village, and the quality of life that an enormous public park with a variety of intended uses from biking and boating to strolling and a trip to perhaps the largest playground in Des Moines Boundaries, makes this area superb for folks who work down town and don't want to drive their car more than necessary. Overall, it's a very nice place to live. Like most other areas of Des Moines, the educational systems needs improvement. "
