8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids have been at Anchor now for about 5 years. The staff, front office, teachers, principal and assistant principal has been nothing but wonderful and helpful. We’ve had an issue with bullying once and we reached out to the teacher and principal after hours when we found out. The principal and teacher were quick to message back and dealt with it the next day. We haven’t had any issues since.Parent Review2y ago - Mayport Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family has had a great experience at Mayport Coastal Sciences Middle School. It was apparent to us on day one how invested the teachers and staff are in caring for and teaching these students. The staff there work hard to create a great learning environment and unique opportunities through clubs, in-class projects, and community involvement. The hands-on responsibilities of caring for and understanding the marine life provide them with not only a rich learning environment but, real-life skills. From their academics to extracurricular opportunities, Mayport is a great environment that is welcoming and supportive. I've seen first-hand the dedication of the teachers and staff there to ensure a positive and enriching environment.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 2553 Americas Cup Cir E.

What Locals Say about North Beach

"Good area mostly because it’s pretty safe and close to the beach. Neighborhood isn’t friendly to neighbors. People aren’t courteous and kids vandalized my property. "

"I love the schools the neighborhood is great and the crime rate is low I would definitely recommend this neighborhood to someone "
- Jo B

"None, except the local habits that have become like an institution: private impromptu fireworks at the boat dock every July 4, but can also sit on the dock and watch numerous displays up and down the intracoastal sans the crowds and traffic; golf carting to a friend’s house with a cooler. But mostly just quiet, each to his or her own. It’s wonderful."

"Jacksonville is a large geographic area and North Beach doesn’t have easy access to freeways. Commuting is not fun. "

"Besides being within ez walking distance to elementary and middle school, there are many outdoor ways to connect with nature in this area, including Modesky Park and the Oak Harbor boat ramp and park, where you can bird watch, or put in a canoe or kayak to row the marked trails. So much nature to experience here. Is it perfect for everyone? Probably not. But it was perfect for me and my kids. From 1998 to now, and now it’s a great place to ease into retirement. No demanding HOA. Key to why we love this very unique and somewhat, in a beautiful way, eccentric neighborhood. If you’re not an average Jo, you may love this place as much as I have these last 25 years. "

"Specifically regarding the Oak Harbor subdivision: If you enjoy simple, outdoor activities with young children (picnic, walk, bike, fish, swing, etc.), Oak Harbor is fabulous. Creative teens can also find plenty to do, but if they go looking for trouble, they can find that here as well, almost as easily. High school is a real trek, but elementary and middle school are super convenient. So pros & cons, for sure, like everywhere. I think it’s a perfect place for young folks on a budget with young kids to get started (and no HOA—good for creative homeowners!)"

"The schools are good, there are many parks, the beach is close, and violent crime is rare so it feels very safe."

"Great neighborhood but be mindful of speeding drivers and make sure your children(youth/Teens) use the sidewalks when on a main road. "
