8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is adhd and his first grade teacher was horrible! ! Now in second grade he has a much better one thank God but the first grade he Always had a note home over some thing crazy such as swinging his lunch box while standing in line. And the office staff was not on my childs side at all and much less than friendly when i would show up and ask about the notes. It seemed that their only solution was to change his med's the pills he is on have very few side Effects and i wasnt going to give him a new pill that has dopey side effects just because the staff cant handel a child with special needs.Parent Review10y ago - Rural Retreat High School

"It’s an old community with a narrow view. Quiet and safe. Dog and cat friendly. Great place to have a back yard garden. A few festivals for families. "

"Dogs must be on a leash in town limits unless they are in a fenced in area. Neighbors usually don’t mind if you have dogs. Most home owners if you rent might now allow pets"

"My neighborhood is very pet friendly. We have a veterinarian on call 24/7 with a mobile truck ready to come at your call. Plenty of sidewalks in town to walk around with your pet. "

"We have a music fest every summer called Heritage Day. We have a few parades a year too. It’s a quiet small town. Not much to do here. "

"Christmas parties are a big hit, the bi-monthly blood drives are big for people to make cakes and desserts to bring. There is a community Halloween night on the street that the high school is on. High school Friday Night Lights Football, which brings the community together. "

"Closed off from interacting. Not too many friendly people. Everyone stays to themselves, unless you’ve grown up here. Older board members keeps an old feel mg over the town. Nothing for children to do. There is a lake and park with a swimming pool. "

"I have friends there and have visited often. I enjoy fishing at the nearby Rural Retreat Lake. Small town everyone knows everyone. Friendly, community people care about each other. Small Schools with very few students per class."
