7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are a military family, and we love Louis Sheffield Elementary. The staff have treated us like a local family since day one, they embraced my children and really made us feel like their own family. I am a very picky mom when it comes to teachers, and I have high expectations of learning for my kids. My son started at LSE with an IEP for a speech disability and was testing below the state and national averages. In four years, they worked hard on his speech and English proficiency, he is now scoring above the national average and no longer needs speech therapy. Principal Delay is amazing, she works tirelessly to keep all of the students safe and sprinkles a little bit of fun... and some dance moves on the school day. The front office has really become our family away from family and made the past four years of living in Jacksonville much easier on my children. The teachers are absolutely amazing, something fun related to learning always seems to be happening somewhere around campus whether it be the kids growing their own butterflies, reading celebrations, or art exhibits, they keep it interesting. We have to transfer to San Diego in July of this year for three years and my first grader is already demanding that we return to Jacksonville after her dad retires so she can complete her 5th grade year at LSE :-) It would probably be the only reason we would consider returning to Oceanway instead of relocating to another area for better learning opportunities for my son who will be in high school by that time.Parent Review1y ago - First Coast High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagein terms of safety i would say its not a safe school as there was a shooting within the first 3 weeks of school starting this year, but besides that its alright.Other Review5mo ago - Oceanway School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am personally a student here, and I can tell you that oceanway is not the best. They have the smallest hallways, they make you run around the entire school even if 2+ of your classes are in the same area, the school is disgusting and dirty, constant fights break out, and its overall horrible. If your apart of LGBTQ+, or at least your child is, this is not the school. Im Transmasc and im constantly bullied because of it, and its not just the students either. Its also the teachers. They dont care about you being comfortable. They dont care about your preferences. You do what they want. They want your respect but yet they give none back. To the parents who sit there and "well the teachers and students are mean because those children are horrible", Most of them are not. I do what im supposed to, I keep quiet and yet I still get picked on or told off. The people at the front office wont do anything about it either unless its a fight, which leads no time for other reports. There is accepting and great teachers here, but theyre wasting their time at this school. They need to go to a better school to teach, because oceanway is absolutely not worth it. Again, this school claims its LGBTQ+ friendly, but its really not except for a small group of teachers.Student Review2y ago - Check out schools near 2456 Sapp Rd S.

"so far the neighborhood is very quiet and I like it I'm thinking about moving here. originally from Miami Florida and my cousin lives here song visiting her and every time I visit her is very quiet in a nice neighborhood to raise your kids and the supermarket is not that far the only downside about it is I don't see public transportation on this side you must have a car but other than that I love it so far"

"There’s many other dogs being walked, all are friendly and on leashes, there are fenced in yards as well. There are many dog parks around to bring your dogs to, to meet other dogs. There are also many communities with doggie bags to clean up after your dog."
