4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe middle school structure and staff have offered my two students solid support and connection. My students have grown academically and socially, and I always have quick collaboration from teachers/administrators around any concerns. I believe student success hinges not on school resources alone, but on how parents/caregivers are able to build partnerships with school teams. The middle school team at BFA Fairfax has been a great partner in these hard years of pandemic learning, with teachers clearly invested in the school community. Also, the school board approaches problem solving with a practical and fiscally conservative lens, while encouraging initiatives that build on strengths and include diverse perspectives. School everywhere are trying to respond to so many demands with not enough resources, but what I can say is BFA Fairfax is doing a nice job providing an experience that models the importance of commitment to learning.Parent Review2y ago - Bfa Elementary/Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are alumni and Fairfax residents who took advantage of the limited pre-k activities with our child. What we found was a public school that alienates students with peanut allergies; there is no policy regarding allergens such as peanuts. Those with allergies have one table in the corner of the lunch room where they can sit away from the group like lepers. Our most dedicated and experienced faculty, (not just teachers) have been under constant pressure to cut budgets; The music program is a ghost of what it was, and it would be unthinkably ignorant to blame this on fewer interested students. The bus program is under constant fire to defend its affordability and worth, despite the fact that our fleet mechanic has been the most unselfish underpaid public servant in Fairfax for more than thirty years. If you love your kids, homeschool.Parent Review9y ago - Check out schools near 2371 Main St.

What Locals Say about Saint Albans
- Nadine L.

"I commute by car to work. I can walk or bike to town. From my neighbor hood it is down hill to town so it is up hill to home. I have never used published transportation in St. Albans."
- Lee

"You must own a car and many people commute 30m or more to their jobs. The area is pretty rural but St. Albans itself has enough to sustain a small job market, particularly in education, medical jobs and farming."

"Dog park at Hardack, lots of open spaces, good routes to walk, sidewalks throughout the city, taylor Park "

"It’s like a barnyard. I live in the middle of the city and I’m surrounded by barn animals! And barking dogs... it’s constant and horrible!"

"Many people have dogs and you see people walking their dogs all the time. There are dog parks as well. "
