5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a student at Benjamin Franklin. I started at this school when I was in Pre-K, and I am now in the 9th grade at Lusher School. When I attended this school before Hurricane Katrina it was a magnet school meaning you had to take a test. After Katrina the school was obliged to allow any student in without taking a test. The teachers at Benjamin Franklin do not care about the child's education, they do not have a great disciplinary system at all and they just student do whatever they choose at this school. That is why I decided to leave for 8th grade at Lusher School. I will say that the only good thing about Benjamin Franklin is that it goes from Pre-K to 8th grade. I f you want your child to go to an extraordinary school send them to Lusher Charter School.Other Review9y ago

"Center of the city. Most areas are 15 min drive with easy access in each direction. Most of my work is on the east side of canal, and have several routes that can get me to the other side fairly east. "

"I ride my bike everywhere and there are a lot of bike lanes, but it's not perfect. Still a lot of rosds that are bumpy or need bike lanes. More bikeable than most parts of the city."

"I work 3 minutes (driving) and 15 minutes (walking) from my work so my commute it super easy! 😉 My kid is in different activities around the city and it rarely takes more than 20 minutes to get somewhere. "

"there are many dogwalkers, bicyclists and runners in the neighborhood as well as parents walking their children. it's a friendly and very quiet area. many houses being renovated which is just making a beautiful neighborhood more attractive."
