3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWould not recommend at all. My sister attends this school and also use to attend to it so I know how it is. Safety: The safety in the school is not good I have heard that there have been lots of fights between the students and this is the elementary. Staff: The staff is will get students in trouble for the worst reasons. Then there’s the principal the principal has always made the year longer every year by adding more days to the year. She has stopped my sister from talking our language and got her in trouble for that and makes students have way to much work.School food: I feel that my sister has been getting food that is very unhealthy and just not cooked well. She has told me that she got a sandwich that was frozen with ice and chunky expired milk. Or they will be getting just will get lots of junk food.Family engagement: The school is very strict on people going on campus. We can’t take my sister to class or nothing because the whole school is fenced in even the entrance. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStaff: the staff here are not that good there are some teachers here that just want to leave they do not want to be there they won’t teach the students well and are not doing good that lots of the students are behind in work.Safety: the safety at this school is not good students are always in fights here and the principal doesn’t do nothing about it. The best he will do to control the students is yell and that’s it.Education: lots of students in the school are below average in grades and work. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEven though Upper Lake High School is a small, the program offered there was sufficient to prepare both of my children for successful completion of bachelors degrees at California State Universities: Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and CSU Long Beach. Both now have professional careers with good benefits. The computer education program especially is excellent, with many students going on to win awards at regional and state competitions. The Academic Decathlon program is likewise excellent, dominating county competition for many years in spite of being the smallest comprehensive high school in Lake County and even winning the small school division for the state of California in 2004. Opportunities for scholarships are tremendous. The only down side is the recent cutbacks in programs due to inability to retain qualified staff in certain academic fields. However, recent moves toward unification with the elementary district could possibly give the school resources needed to ameliorate this problem.Parent Review9y ago - Check out schools near 2257 E State Highway 20.

"hate it really sucks nothing to do anywhere and evening no street lights. nowhere for kids to do anything. this is for old people to retire do NOT come here thinking it's a great place to raise your kids it is not. if you want drugs and get a criminal record come on down its just for u"

"No one is willing to rent to dog owners around here. Plus there are a lot of drug addicts just walking the streets. Makes walking a dog a little scary. "
