8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDuring the Omicron peak, Mooneyham mismanaged the covid situation carelessly by not taking any precautions, allowing cafeteria/school workers to pass Covid to kids. Kids wore masks while workers didn't which defeated the purpose and it was not justifiable to spread Covid to kids and their entire families. They also let kids sit very closely in cafeteria without masks for 30 min and created a breeding ground for virus. Kids including mine had to miss weeks of classes and Cogat testing due to this recklessness but their absences would be counted against their annual absences. No matter how you hard try to talk about these things to Principal and teachers, they don't consider. Parents signed a petition with ~2400 signatures to frisco ISD to re-enable virtual learning during omicron peak which they stopped in December even with federal funding worth billions through 2023. They did not consider and insisted that our kids come in person just to give them Covid. While they claim the virtual learning was stopped, teachers continue to show kids videos even through specials like PE/health etc with no interactive in person learning, defeating the point of in-person learning. Kids of elementary school age (6yrs old) don't need to be fixated on screen if there are teachers available in person. PE classes should be done outside by a coach/teacher if weather permits or else indoors by a human and not videos!! What's the point in having teachers if kids have to watch videos and try to understand? Isn't in person interactive learning the whole point of seniding our kids to in-person school? I don't think the management cares about the well being of kids even after bringing these into their attention. Not to mention, kids are not given challenging academic learning per their levels which make them bored. They have the kids watch the same math games/lessons etc that were taught in their virtual school last year. There was no hand off on what materials were covered in virtual school, what level each kid were in writing/reading/math etc and looks like its a complete mess. I am forced to supplement my kid with new materials even after they spend 7hrs in school, yet learned nothing new. I heard that in some classes there were no snack breaks and children have to stay hungry for the entire morning till lunch.Cafeteria food is awful and unhealthy. I really wonder how they spend our tax payer dollars. I wont be sending my kid to Mooneyham from next school year onward.Parent Review2y ago - Heritage High School

What Locals Say about Westridge

"McKinney is a beautiful place with mature trees and well maintained foliage. There are working class people with well mannered children. I love Halloween because people trick or treat with their kids and some pets and people decorate their homes with a flair for fun! I would raise children here if I were younger but I enjoy being a empty nester! 😊"

"My neighborhood is quiet, clean, and picturesque. McKinney is full of tree lined streets and every neighborhood has a small park and pool... Crime is very low the biggest alert I get from our Ring football is from a Bobcat lurking around the area. We’re close to Frisco so our children attended Frisco ISD... Downtown McKinney takes you back to a time when things were simpler with Candy Shops and Restaurants on every block. McKinney is the perfect place to raise a family or just to enjoy life with its restaurants and shops. We’re not too far from Downtown Dallas about a 25 minute drive. "
