6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBeattie is a fantastic school. The administrators and teachers all go above and beyond what they are required to do. They have a fantastic gifted program and also extra resources for students that need it. My son is on both ends of the spectrum and they still meet his needs for his advanced courses as well as the areas he requires extra help. All of his teachers have worked with us to ensure he is getting the best education possible. I cannot say enough good things about this school.Parent Review8y ago - Irving Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnfortunately, there's not a strong academic focus at Irving. There are a few great teachers, but they don't get a lot of support from administration.Parent Review1y ago - Lincoln Southeast High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son was told to go to the media center and he could actually work on school work. And he was doing that but the administrator of Southeast high School had a problem with him going up to the library and studying he's almost about to graduate. And then they just added a new rule just to be mean let my son study so he can get the heck out of there isn't it bad enough that he has low self-esteem. Help him so he can graduate if he has special education. Like these teachers are neglecting kids and their education now. And you need to stop the the administrators need to stop picking on my son. My son was just sitting in the media center when another kid got arrested and they tried to say that my son had something to do with it obviously you can check your cameras. The administrator and the counselor seem to have a problem with my child. And he's doing good now. So get him out of there and let him graduate if he needs to study help him to study. And sometimes before and after school does not work especially when you have somebody that is with you that has a disability that needs to be home to take their medication. And there's a thing called no child Left behind so why are you leaving my child behind?Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 1944 Otoe St.

"I grew up in this neighborhood, move d to Omaha for my job at age 25, moved back at age 55 to take care of my mom. It's one of the few places that had stayed very much the same. Good family neighborhood."

"I've lived here 13 years. This is a beautiful area and neighborhood. There are many historic homes that are works of art in themselves. Walking around is very pleasant and relaxing. A safe neighborhood too. Nearby elementary and middle schools are some of the best in the city."

"We've lived here for two years now and love our neighborhood. It's quiet, the people are friendly, and it has easy access to downtown, I-80, and south Lincoln shopping areas. Two bus lines run through the neighborhood too. It's a great place to live."

"We moved here in 2012, and we love it. The neighborhood is very quiet, except for the noise of kids playing on summer evenings, and who minds that? The people are friendly. Almost all of the houses are well-kept. The location is especially good because downtown and the Haymarket are a quick 5 minute drive, I-80 via US 77 is right nearby, and any and every kind of shop or store you might want is within 10 minutes as well. Public transit is great in this area too. Two routes are within a 5 minute walk of most of the houses in the neighborhood. The neighborhood association sponsors a community garden, garage sale, and garden tour each year. It's a great neighborhood for walking the dog too. Some spots lack sidewalks, but the streets are usually quiet enough that it's not an issue to walk along the edge of the street. There is super easy access to the Helen Boosalis trail, which connects to the main Rock Island trail heading downtown, or the Tierra Williamsburg trail heading south. It's an easy bike ride to the Salt Creek and Bison trails also. We highly recommend this area to retirees, professionals, families with kids...pretty much anyone! It is quaint, but doesn't have the stodgy feel of the Country Club neighborhood, which is right next door. There's a beautiful church along 17th Street, and plenty of nearby parks. It's just a great place to live. We love it here, and we always feel safe. Crime is virtually unheard of, and neighbors watch out for neighbors."
