The leadership protects misconduct and kowtows to the few ineffective teachers at Walnut Creek. The district does not support diverse or exceptional learners. One of the math teachers began bullying our son who is a gifted learner. Our son exceeded the district math benchmark, but instead of supporting him, his math teacher would pick on him in class and sarcastically pronounce in front of the class, “you already know this stuff, so you don’t need to sit through class today,” encouraging our student not to attend classes. When we brought these and other concerns to building and central administration, the principal would defend the teacher’s behavior and actually began bullying our family. During virtual instruction we witnessed teachers aggressively picking on minority Asian students. One student was having difficulty logging on to Zoom and his ELA teacher loudly announced to other teachers in the Zoom, “I don’t know what this kid wants from me.” The climate and culture are major issues behind the scenes. Apparently this district is more concerned with protecting near retirees than ensuring equity and inclusion.

I love this school and the entire staff! We have had a wonderful experience. My 2 children are learning so much, the PTA is exceptional! They are an amazing group of women, and go above and beyond!

This school and administration is absolute trash. I cannot stress enough ..do not send your child here! My daughter was attacked in the bathroom, had informed the school of the threats prior and they did nothing. From there, the administration proceeded to victim blame her after the incident. It is the mobile home of high schools and I am embarrassed to have ever enrolled my child in this dump. She learns more standing in line at McDonalds. Do yourself a favor, enroll in private school if you are in this area. Your tax dollars are not going very far here.
