She always is doing things to make the teachers and staff feel appreciated. I see this positive demeanor filter through the teachers and staff down to the students. The students are met with positive energy each and every day. The teachers rally around each other and work together. This translates to an excellent teacher/student relationship. One that inspires all to excel and give their best. I have been to many great schools and some pretty bad ones. I have to say without question Alexander Wilson Elementary is one of the best. Ignoring the appearance of children in camouflage clothing, halls are easy to navigate with over fourteen hundred students. The bus system is amazing, with its outstanding timeschedual and routes, making it easy for kids to get to school without fights. Dip on the ceilings and under the desks is casual and a joy of a time to clean. The teachers here have a great incentive of teaching with a high level on knowledge. "I moved here approx 1 yr ago after extensively researching everything but schools (I have no school age kids). After 13 yrs in Durham, NC Graham has been amazing! It is an easy, stress free commute to the triangle and triad yet has all of the benefits and feel of the small town. The downtown area was well planned. Municipal buildings, post office, library, children's museum, arts center, movie theatre ($4), shops, and restaurants are all in close proximity of each other. Lots of free/low cost community activities, independently owned businesses, low housing costs. Locals are friendly, polite, and helpful to newcomers and visitors. I highly recommend to all except those looking for late night clubs/bars (there are none). Graham is very quiet after 9pm unless you attend a late movie or special event. "
