6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI cannot express how much I love this school and how grateful I am that my son attends PS 130. He's had some of the most wonderful teachers and the chess program is incredible and has propelled him into another universe for the better. He wouldn't have been exposed to chess through any other means and through that he's learned how to navigate loss, built confidence, and sharpened his strategic capabilities. The PS 130 community is amazing, diverse, and welcoming. My only critique is I sometimes feel there could be more homework or a tiny bit more focus on academics -- but I wouldn't send him anywhere else. He's getting a well-rounded education and is surrounded by tons of caring staff and feels supported. Test scores don't give the full picture. Thank you, PS 130!Parent Review2mo ago - West Brooklyn Community High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIm positively impressed by how much teachers care about the school and its community - they know their students in depth, are engaged with educational principals and trends and do the extra mile to get students engaged and comfortable. It’s an amazing environment and every time I participate in any activity from the school, I believe more and more in the public school system.Only opportunity for improvement I see is to increase focus on hard academics, without of course obsessing on it to the point of excluding non high performer students.Parent Review6mo ago - Check out schools near 182 E 5th St #2.

"I have been here for almost two years now and love how family oriented it is. The buildings have so much old Brooklyn charm without looking like expensive Brooklyn Heights. I am an adventurous eater and will try all the new food trends and that doesn’t really happen here. For exotic fusion food, I have to go to Williamsburg or lower Manhattan for it. "
