My oldest son has special needs and this school was not able to offer much of any help and even made things worse by their uncaring manner and after my son went on to middle school, his little brother is still there and I find they treat him wrong because of the feelings they had with his older brother. There are a few good teachers, but I can only name two or three. The Asst. principal is unfair and prejudiced. The principal leaves everything up to the asst. principal. I even went to the Board of Education with my concerns and I received a vm that they stand by their teachers and administrators and could do nothing to help me. They consolidated all the elementary schools into one and now the school is so large, it is harder to control and this is why things are this way. Not to mention too many administrators there are uncaring, probably only there to get their paycheck. This is why I am moving. I have decided to leave the district and just move somewhere else. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love Strong Middle School. All of the 6th grade teachers were wonderful with my son's transition from Allendale Elementary School. The curriculum was very challenging but not too overwhelming. The teachers helped with tutoring. 6th Grade Camp was a wonderful experience for my son!!!Parent Review13y ago - Melvindale High School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is a 1st grader there I just want to say this is a great school the staff is wonderful they are very caring and helpful my son is doing great at reading and math he enjoys getting up and comming to school. He has never missed a day of school because comming to school is his favorite thing and he would be very sad if he did. So if he has a doctors appointment or anything he comes for a half day. You will really love this school I really wish we didn't have to leave.Parent Review12y ago

"The smog from the marathon plant. The fumes release all the toxicity cause bad heath for human and pets. Cancer Asthma. We lost 2 pets here already due to cancer from the smog."
