2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen I started working here I was stunned at the disorganization of the administration, and the lack of knowledge from the students. There is a complete lack of motivation from the students and parents. At first I blamed myself, but then I realized that a large percentage of them were failing subjects such as art and athletics. The students did not take referrals very seriously due to the lack of consequences. I know for a fact that I got more work out of gang members in inner city schools than at this school. They would even severely fail on an assignment intended to be "easy", such as writing the definitions of ten vocabulary words for homework. They claim to have a zero tolerance for bullying but nothing was done on the matter, even when it was recorded on camera. There is an epidemic of conformity. Several parents have their children when they are young. They live in houses that have been paid for by previous generations and instead of being a parent become their children's friend. There are three generations under one roof. They work for an expensive car but live in homes that have not been repaired in several years. "I have lived in this area for 30 years. It is a very relaxed, friendly area. A large homeschooling community, and local entertainment in the way of festivals and musical venues. It is also a great area for hunters, especially hog and during Dove season. Has great local farmer's markets, and abundant local food resources. There are several parks in the area, the Bigfoot, Pearsall, Devine and Lytle parks. There are many local mom's/homeschool groups that have park days and field trips. There is also the local Bigfoot Museum which is a great storehouse of local history. "
