8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere is lots of bullying going on at this school. Be careful if you send you kid there, they won't do anything about it. Lucky for them my son waited for the following year when he changed schools to tell me or I would have dealt with these kids personally because the school will not do anything. There's even video of it and nothing was done.Parent Review1y ago - Desert Foothills Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagei am a recent alumni and i love most of the teachers its the staff that i have an issue with. the current principal (susie smith) has been known to target students who have had problems in the past and yell at them in their faces, guilt trip them, and give snarky/condescending remarks. (this is the same for most of the staff.) its an extremely inappropriate way to act towards students. then when she goes to call parents/guardians she puts on a front and acts sweet and genuinely concerned. its two faced and manipulative. the staff is also sexist. when dresscoded they humiliate the girls by giving them a bright red shirt with the name and logo of the school on it. when my guy friend got dresscoded they gave him a white shirt. he even asked for a red shirt and they told him he had to buy one. the dresscode is so strict on the girls. maybe they should make an effort to teach the boys to control themselves if they are so concerned. just a thought. i also assume that the staff just like having power over people and take advantage of that. i would like to conclude this review by saying i DO NOT recommend this school if you want your child to have a positive middle school experience. you can’t control the negative student interactions part of middle school very much but you can control negative staff and teacher interactions.Other Review2y ago - Sunburst School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSunburst used to be awesome, when Rhonda Warren was principal. The new principal, Jennifer Dial, has a different approach to her interactions. It is very obvious she has favorite teachers and staff members, and as a parent of 2 sunburst kids-I see the interactions very different with Mrs. Dial from one of my kid’s teachers to the other, because of her favoritism. It’s really too bad she is the reason TEN staff members left at the end of this year. Hopefully district will see the red flags.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 16807 N Landis Ln.

"Wide range of family demographics. Mix of young families, retirees, etc. No park in the square mile (used to be you'd go to the school, but laws have changed and it's kept locked up except for official school use. Yard sizes allow for there to be places for kids to play at home. Also, there are parks within 1-3 miles from this neighborhood, but none within walking distance."

"This community is absolutely the definition of a dog friendly community! There are several parks, as well as trails for hiking nearby, and dog parks. I’d say that about 85% of people I see walking in the park and around the community, have dogs. "
