7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA lot of wonderful things to highlight about our experience with Roosevelt. Principal Galindo has done an amazing job building a thoughtful, engaged group of teachers and administrators. It is also a remarkable group of parents in the Roosevelt community: parents are engaged, grounded, diverse, and caring - all without being overly helicopter-y. Finally, the afterschool program is amazing: it provides great structured play time, and is a life saver for dual career families. Very grateful to be part of this special community.Parent Review2mo ago - Santa Barbara Senior High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot a good school for students who aren't White or Hispanic. Asian, Biracial and Black kids are seriously bullied and singled out. Not only by students but by staff as well. This school sits high on the systemic racism wagon. The principals blame the victim and not the abusers at this school. God forbid if the abuser is white. The teachers are pretty bad when it comes to teaching and explaining things to students. I have one child that has graduated and two still enrolled. I hear some of the worst stories from my children and after having conversations with the school I feel like there is no hope until they get rid of leadership.Parent Review2y ago - Santa Barbara Junior High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI gave this three stars because my daughter was happy there, socially. Not a great school for high achievers. Mixed bag of teachers and an absolutely terrible principal that should be replaced. He's apathetic and unapologetically dismissive with parents and students. I noticed in earlier reviews that parents loved the principal, however those reviews were PRIOR to Principal Lito M. Garcia being appointed to this position in May of 2011. The school tends to focus on bringing the bottom up to improve school test scores, and doesn't provide much support or encouragement for good students to reach beyond the formulaic and unchallenging Honor's classes..Parent Review8y ago - Check out schools near 1625 Laguna St #16.

"13 min drive on the freeway. Not too busy most days. Occasionally there is some more traffic. I can take a road as well if the freeway is busy. "

"Good walks, parks and gardens. Near to shopping and restaurants. Everyone keeps the houses tidy and well maintained "

"This part of Santa Barbara is only a ten or fifteen minute walk to the center of town. The city's central parks are directly on the route to the town center. It's a beautiful upscale area. "
