College readiness is the right rating and I feel this site is heavily promoting fewer high real estate valued areas than low inflated areas.Parent Review1mo ago - Willow Creek Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has issues with behavior problems and how they are handled. You would think living in a decent neighborhood would mean decently behaved students, but we have never seen and heard such disrespect for teachers and vulgar talk from children. The bullying that is allowed to go on especially in the upper grade levels is shocking. The principal seems to be scared to face the parents of these children who ruin entire grade levels. The parents of these children are also the same ones who will be the first to say their child never has any problems and the school is perfect. Our children have to listen to screaming fits and watch physical violence in their classroom on a daily basis. These kids kick walls, throw things, assault teachers and other students, and disrupt learning. Some of these children seem to be in a special program but most seem to be in the classroom daily for the teachers to deal with while trying to educate our children. The playground is a rough scene where children make fun of and exclude other children as well as lots of aggressive behavior. We have tried to focus on the sweet families and children and not let the bad apples ruin everything but it is hard. The teachers are hit or miss. We have had some amazing teachers and some just okay teachers. Academics are okay but I wouldn’t say they are challenging. It is also hard to tell if it’s because the teachers deal with so many behavioral issues that it takes away from learning time. The positives are that it is not Houston ISD, the new assistant principal seems wonderful, and the neighborhood that the school is in is beautiful. We also appreciate our school board making good decisions like allowing students to attend school during the pandemic and getting rid of the mask mandate quickly enough. Our superintendent is very big on safety and has thankfully stepped in with this elementary school for the lack of following safety procedures. We are hopeful this will improve the school where it is lacking.Parent Review2y ago - Riverwood Middle School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is an 8th grader this year and has enjoyed her time at RMS. It’s a middle school, so there are always going to be your typical middle school social drama regardless of the school, but she is so happy to have attended RMS. I agree with some of the other posters about the wealth of some of the families, but I don’t see how that’s a bad thing. We are middle class, and my daughter has friends that are from many different backgrounds and (parental) financial statuses. It has not been an issue at all and that is part of life at the end of the day. She has lots of friends and enjoys going to school and seeing them. The academics were challenging but she maintained straight A’s in all advanced classes while also doing athletics. We have been very happy with Riverwood and would choose it again!Parent Review11mo ago - Check out schools near 1603 Sheltering Oaks Ln.

"Our neighborhood called North Kingwood Forest is great for young couples with children or those who like outdoors! We honestly live in the best street called My Way, where all the neighbors are super friendly and we watch each others kids and dogs like our own. My husband and I just organized a block party for Halloween and we had the entire street coming, it was awesome! If you’re looking for a safe place and sociable neighbors, you will love it..."
