3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have attended this school for almost 4 years and my experience here has been mostly great! Ever since the pandemic occurred many great changes have been made to the school. There are plenty more clubs to join like cheerleading or track. More rigorous courses like AP or Honors have been added. The teachers have also helped out more in the courses. Many of the students here are great (if you hang around the right people). School counselors have helped many of us with our college applications, they even helped me get into many cal states and universities of California. I won’t act like there aren’t any negatives to this school because there are. Many fights do happen at this school, but since the pandemic, the number of fights have been lowered. When I was a freshmen almost one fight would occur each week! In the past 3 years only one fight would occur each month. Some teachers also don’t teach as much as they should in the harder courses. For example, my AP psychology teacher would almost never teach us anything, and when we had the exam almost everyone failed it. The school lunches here could also be a hit or a miss, but they are free. When you count the negatives and the positives, the positives outnumber the negatives. You can join many fun clubs and the rigorous courses can help you stand out in college applications. The teachers here are mostly great and so are the counselors. Once I graduate next month I can proudly say that I was an APACHE!Student Review11mo ago - McKinley Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has come along way toward being run correctly. The current principal is very professional and has a no nonsense attitude which is needed here. My child was in Mr. Bagdassarian's class for pre K and we had a very good experience. Overall it was a good year last year. I hope we have the same or better this year. I like the school because it is small and has made changes for the better. Nice people work here. Mr. Bagdessarian was very friendly and out going. The 2 other teacher in his building were not so great attitude wise. But he was funny and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to send my child here from what I experienced, (although I would avoid the other 2 kindergarten teachers that were his neighbors:( But I am sure the education was good. I rate the school a 7 out of 10. Mrs. M. Hernandez Lynwood, CA.Parent Review10y ago - Enterprise Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would give school a negative star, but it is not an option. First of all the principal ( Pearson ) is very unprofessional and tells the kids to fight outside of school campus. 2nd they send false notifications stating your kid is absent from class. This school constantly has fights and the principal does not care. Ive had my daughter bullied by parents in this school. I would never recommend this school to anyone. That principal shouldn’t even be there..the way she favors certain individualsParent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 13812 Avalon Blvd #A.

"Limited sidewalks and street lighting at night. I rarely walk or stroll around in the area and drive everywhere. A few restaurants and a coffee shop is walkable, about 15 minutes on near Wilshire."

"Very walkable streets and high dog population neighborhood. Lots of people out walking in the evenings on a nice day, many with baby strollers, dogs or both."

"We moved to this neighborhood as a predominate work-from-home location. It’s a good community with lots of lot space where even in heavy commuter traffic you can get to the west side in ~45 mins. This feels especially satisfying compared to further out communities that people go for similar space but require 1-1.5 hour commutes each way."

"Neighborhood has yearly events, such as a holiday get together and the area draws a lot of people for Halloween festivities. There’s a number of young families that have come into the area in the past couple years and there’s good above average interaction and playtime amongst them, compared to other areas of Los Angeles from experience."

"A few good parks for dogs at the periphery of the neighborhood, many dog lovers. However sidewalks disappear at critical moments making walking with a dog treacherous and there's some big dog phobia here (same as many parts of LA) "

"I lived in this neighborhood for over a year. The weekends are loud you can hear music being played from houses down the street. Not walkable at all. Huge dogs everywhere and doesn’t feel the safest. Pretty dirty and unmaintained. Closest grocery store is a food for less which is dirty and not where I would want to buy my groceries."
