    "I lived her for three years. To walk or ride your bike can be dangerous on Forked River Beach as people tend to drive way too fast. There are some parks....one is really cute but right on the water without any fencing. So it obviously isn't too safe. There were some break ins when I was in the area due to some rough teenagers. The police and rescue squad are quick to respond. Public transportation isn't really accessible unless you live close to route 9 or walk for the New Jersey Transit. There is a small local bus but it was cut to two days a week which isn't good for the elderly who can no longer drive. There are a bunch of small stores but the main ones are Walmart, Kohls, ShopRite, Home Depot, Staples along with the normal fast food places like Wendy's, McDonald's and Burger King. Overall I would say the town is very clean and they pick up garbage often. Traffic is horrible though as Route 9 is only 2 lanes for well over 5 miles. Lacey road is very busy as well but expanded to more lanes to handle the traffic. "
