6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe enrolled our children thinking this school would be great but was proven wrong. The good is the academic incentives for children to learn, such as All A trips and good behavior treasure boxes. The administration staff does a poor performance with record keeping. The school marks students tardy and count the day against them even if they have a medical note! Children are barely given recess time. Some of the teachers are not nice and caring towards the students. Instead of making situations better after parent/teacher conferences to discuss concerns, it only makes you and your child a mark for being an "issue". Our children transferred in from virtual for social interaction, and one of our child's teacher kept making references that our child may not know things because of coming from this type of learning environment. Even though she had transfer grades and assessment scores sent by the virtual school for the first half of the school year, she insisted on retesting our child on everything she had taught her class from the beginning of the year, which our child passed. 2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been very pleased with Dillon High School. I feel that my child is getting an excellent education. The teachers have been really good about keeping in touch with me when my son has any problems with material. My son has really enjoyed most of the classes--the only ones he hasn't are not really because of the teachers, i.e. he doesn't like the subject. The advisors have been very helpful with college planning. I feel that DHS is a super school. Unfortunately, I have had to go to the office a couple of times, but the principal did a super job and was fair to all parties. I don't regret sending my son there at all! "I have lived in this area for several years and it is home. Just a small town but everyone knows everyone. This neighborhood watches out for each other. It is in a school zone. SCDOT is right down the road a couple blocks from hospital Dr Offices . If you were to have to walk to get around nothing is that far away. "
