Those few that complain about diversity should concentrate more on academics than what people look like.Parent Review1y ago - Carroll Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTo Future Families,I feel it's necessary to share our candid experience with Carroll Elementary School to provide a clearer picture for those considering it for their children's education. Our time at the school brought to light several aspects that potential families should be aware of.Firstly, a significant number of students participate in external tutoring, which seems to be a key factor in their success on standardized tests. This reliance on outside help might indicate areas where the school's academic program could be strengthened. Our experience also highlighted a distinct pattern where involvement in the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) seemed to be linked with greater opportunities for those children and parents. This includes participation in school events, field trips, and prominent roles in school activities like musicals. It appeared that a small, consistent group was favored for these opportunities, which could lead to a sense of exclusion for others.Furthermore, in any disputes or issues involving students, we observed a tendency for resolutions to lean away from impartiality, often to the detriment of children whose parents were less involved in the PTO or school volunteer activities. The underlying message seemed to be that active participation in the PTO or volunteer programs was essential for a child to fully benefit from what the school has to offer. More concerning was the impression that voicing any concerns or complaints might lead to subtle forms of retaliation or exclusion.Having been part of this community for several years, we are now relieved to have moved on and would urge potential families to consider these points carefully. The school environment plays a crucial role in a child's development, and it's vital to choose a setting that aligns with your values and expectations for inclusivity and fairness.Parent Review2mo ago - Eubanks Intermediate School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat School. We have 4 children in the CISD school system and one attending Carroll High School. We thought about moving back to Arizona next year for work. After looking at the schools I was reminded how lucky we are with the schools and teaching staff here in Southlake. We decided we couldn’t move back until after our youngest finishes school. I remember when we gustar moved here what a difference the school were from where we moved. I guess you forget over time so it was a good reminder when we sat down to compare Carroll to other options if we moved.Parent Review2y ago - George Dawson Middle School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey claim their core values are "honest communication" and "curiosity" and respect for others. Yet they refuse to allow their students to read the autobiography of the man they named the school after. Why did they name the school after him? Because of his inspiring autobiography. They don't value curiosity or learning. They don't respect the experiences of others. They don't communicate honestly. They ban books that honestly describe the effects of our nation's racist history. Sadly, the man who wrote his autobiography was a child himself when he experienced racism. The school could use this as a teaching experience about how racism isn't suitable for children. Instead, they decided it was the *discussion* of racism that wasn't suitable, not the racism itself. The leaders of this school lack intelligence, compassion, integrity, and plain common sense. They shouldn't be entrusted with the care of any living things, let alone children. What a pathetic legacy for such an inspiring man.Other Review9mo ago - Check out schools near 1205 Oakwood Trl.

"In my area of northern Southlake, properties are large and have more than fifty feet of front and back yards. Properties are well fenced so pets have plenty of space to play and roam unattended with fenced areas. "

For anyone looking for a quiet place to settle down, raise a family this neighborhood has to be one of the best in the USA.
