"Beautiful area. I grew up here and bought my home here due to good school district and proximity to family , I feel the neighborhood needs more residents to clean up and maintain property to the roadside, quite honestly people are slobs . I take pride in my home . But also there are rentals in my community which is fine but the landlords don’t care to make sure they stay neat and clean. People should be fined for not cleaning up debris,leaves and keeping garbage and junk on the property to look at from the road. This infuriating behavior should be fined. You would see the property values elevate if this is what takes place. "

"Difficult old secluded beach community back roads no sidewalks no street lights very hilly bumpy roads a lot of over grown trees lots of water run off when it rains puddles steep hills town doesn’t clear roads well at all in the winter you lose power a lot above ground wires cable as well"

"This was a wonderful getaway from urban living. Can walk to private beach and feel safe. Sound Beach is a charming town, 15 minutes from Port Jefferson. Excellent Miller Place Schools."
