I have found very much the opporsite! I believe the teachers are top notch, enthusiastic, effective, and very engaged! We have found the curriculum to be challenging and taught in creative, interesting ways. The "team" teaching concept allows teachers and students to get to know eachother well, and provides accountability and security for the student. The academics here are very strong and there is wonderful community support, which shows in the students. There's a few knuckleheads like there are at every school, but many of the students I met were very friendly, motivated, and well-behaved. The faculty and staff are very caring and work very hard to help students reach their goals. The principal is probably the best I've seen, very visible and consistent with rules, and runs a tight ship. Too bad he's retiring. "Seems like there are many dogs around and no seems to mind. Grand Island is a huge Island with only 20000 people it is not densely populated."

"some northern parts of the island you'll notice no street lights. not in a creepy way, because honestly theres not much crime here, but because of it you can see the stars at night so much better. it has a sense of community. there is no "bad area" of Grand Island. "
