"it's a family friendly environment and yet it's also a tourist destination so keep a good eye on your children. Never let your guard down. "

"IB is great in many ways. There is no large corporate or chain businesses other than 7-11, no buildings allowed higher than 3-story, much of the beach area houses were built in the 50’s and 60’s. Many are now remodeled and nice. The IB pier is quite beautiful with regular fishermen, surfers and people walking. "

"Getting out of ANY part of South Bay during weekday commuting hours is challenging. Over the last couple years my commute time has increased significantly. "Imperial beach is a good area but there are some areas that do flood when it rains and so I would advise to avoid the areas that are on the down hill parts so you don’t get flooded out. But that’s about the only bad thing I have saw nearby. "
