8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis was an amazing experience for my child. The school was supportive during shelter in place and did everything they could do within their power. Friendships were still formed as best as it could during the circumstances of the pandemicOther Review4mo ago - Pleasant Hill Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school with fantastic teachers who take the time to invest in the kids. Our 2 kids 10 and 7 are currently enrolled and they are thriving as a result of all the attention they get. Reading the ratings, I think they have been unfairly impacted by the equity ratings which don't reflect our experience at the PHE at all.Parent Review1y ago - Pleasant Hill Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is awful. the kids vape in the bathrooms. it's falling apart. I was in gym class and a LIGHT fell from the ceiling that could've totally crushed a kid. the teachers are rude, and the ones that aren't usually leave because who wouldn't? the kids don't want to be there, the teachers don't want to be there, and it was genuinely just a horrible place. i was there for two years and now i have severe depression and anxiety. don't send your kids here.Had to DROP OUT it was so awful. They didn't treat my father like an equal parent, even though i told them so many times that custody was 50/50. Wouldn't call him despite me telling them to, and didn't even have his contact info even though he gave it multiple times!Other Review4mo ago - Check out schools near 11 Diablo Vista Way.

"Safe neighborhood with a casual swim club and plenty of local trail access. Highway is 4 miles away but traffic isn’t an issue unless you’re driving into Burton valley for school drop off."

"Is a nice safe neighborhood with well maintained gardens and parks for the most part people are friendly and welcoming. Public transportation is good and reliable "

"Great neighborhood for raising a family! Very little traffic. Kids can ride their bikes and feel safe. The one drawback of living in our area is there are no sidewalks or street lights. We’re in the unincorporated area of Lafayette."

"Feels like a holiday location in the mountains yet close for corporate life in the city. Best area for high schoolers. "

"My neighbourhood has awful access to public transport. I don’t have a car at the moment. If I want to go into town it’s an hour & 20min walk both ways. It keeps me fit, I guess. We just moved here from Chicago, so it’s a bit of a culture shock. I survived 8 years there with no car. 3 of those years were with kids. The first week we were here, I thought I’d take the kids into SF to see their dads new workplace. I walked for 40mins uphill, pushing a stroller with my 3.5yo and carrying my 1year old on my back so we could catch a bus from St Mary’s College (that runs very not very often) to Orinda BART into SF. Not an experience I would repeat. We probably should have just walked into Lafayette and got the BART from there I need to get my UK licence changed to a CA one, so I can get on the insurance to drive my husbands car"

"The community center on St Mary’s Road is brilliant. It had a tot drop, no registration required preschool, a playground, trails, loads of different keep fit classes and other community events"

"When the power transformers explode, a line comes down, a neighbor has an accident, the tree cutting service smashes into the fire hydrant and floods my garage with water, a cyclist gets hit by a car and the kids run around at halloween, everyone comes together pretty quickly and there’s always people around during the day to help. Seriously good people but mother nature and other factors definitely keep it exciting."

"It was the first place I lived when I moved to CA, 16 years ago. I was in my mid 20s & single, so I moved to SF as soon as I could but as soon as I got married & had a kid, I wanted to come back. It’s a great place for kids!"
