One of them has an IEP for both speech and ADHD and the accommodations have let them be a very successful student. My other child has had one teacher that came off as being very harsh due to the number of incredibly disruptive students in that class with no self control, but they still have had a good experience overall. Yes, a teacher/admin may tell the bully to stop doing yada yada, but it never stops. Safety is bad too. While I had high hopes and expectations, the reality is that the school and community do not want to make the adjustments needed to improve student performance and to change attitudes towards diversity and equity. The school supports discriminatory practices such as tracking, which harms students. It does not support special needs learners effectively. "I lived in this neighborhood for four years in my early twenties. I loved the access to the beach and the mountains, lots of students around but I never had any issues with partying in this area. It's expensive, but the overall feel of Santa Cruz cannot be beat for those who love the beach and laid back lifestyle. "

"I live in the Mount Hermon part of Felton. I see a lot of people walking their dogs and stopping to chat and let the dogs say “hi” to each other. It is a very dog-friendly neighborhood. "

"Proximity to some of the beautiful, giant Redwood forests and state Parks (within walking distance). Beautiful area. Wonderful, caring neighbors who actually reach out and come to help if they see you have a problem... heavy boxy, fallen tree, electrical outage., etc. "
