3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLakeland Union is a really great school, great teachers, nice school, but the students there are really cruel. Since it is a really small school there are a lot of cliques. There is a huge clique problem. If you're not athletic, you are pretty much shunned from every one. All of the teachers i've had are really nice and really do care about the students. The only class that is challenging is Mr. Keelers class. He is a really good teacher. I love the school but the bullying is really bad at Lakeland. There isn't a lot of dicipline of the kids except if they gets in a fight at lunch or something. I am thoroughly impressed with how specials are taught, and my children absolutely adore being part of the school-wide projects facilitated by resident artists from our community. The integration of art into their education has been a game-changer, and it's heartwarming to witness their enthusiasm as they showcase their contributions to various school-wide projects over the years.Participating in these artistic endeavors has not only fostered a sense of inclusion for my children but has also allowed them to thrive in areas beyond the academic curriculum. The freedom they have to excel in such programs is commendable, and I believe it significantly contributes to their overall growth and development.While I applaud the school for its commitment to artistic and STEM education, I would appreciate increased community and staff leadership involvement in extracurricular activities. I believe that having more accountability in leadership roles for these activities would provide valuable guidance to my children and enhance their overall school experience.
