"This is a great place to live if you don't mind being 30 minutes away from everything. If you are a water person then you will enjoy living on the river watching the ships go by. I moved from Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, CA to Jacksonville, FL in October 2013 and I love it here. It is different from living at the beach on the west coast but it's great if you want to get away from the maddening crowds. I actually have a small private beach at my house which is right at the channel on the river that connects to the Atlantic. The only draw back, I would say, is the military helicopters circling overhead all the time. They are also thinking about widening the channel in order to bring in a nuclear aircraft carrier which I hope does not happen. Beautiful weather conditions, peaceful, no crime area, very nice neighborhood and people, its a virtual heaven on earth."
