3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe've loved our experience at Woodholme. My son has been blessed with wonderful teachers that truly care. I've observed each year, and they also know how to manage a class. The administration has changed since my son's first year, but we've enjoyed working with everyone. I also just give a shout out to the special education teachers and therapists. Great job, Woodholme Rockets!Parent Review1y ago - Northwest Academy of Health Sciences

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNorthwest is the Medical Career Magnet School for the county, is also the zone school for this the area. Do not be mislead by the title MAGNET. The majority of the zone students coming out of elementary schools unable to get into magnet programs of their choice is a factor. That's important to remember because the MAP measurements could be skewed to read better because of the presents of magnet students, or worst because there isn't enough of them to carry the school over the expected percentage of what would be considered an institution of the highest degree of well educated students, as expected for a suburban middle school. Diversity is getting worst...not better. The involuntary segregation is really no ones fault by design. The area is primarily made up of middle income parents doing well enough to have a home, or apartment in the area, but have better plans for their funds such as a college education, moving to another house, or a really great retirement. BCPS is stuck on a model that keeps the students from realizing small joys such things as a choice. Northwest does it's best to teach all students the required format for middle school, but in my opinion BCPS could do more to support the students at this school. The so-called magnet lottery is not fair draw- don't have direct proof...just a feeling. Teachers everywhere are being under paid, schools are under staff (preferred level). Keep the faith that, All will come out alright for the student. Like the future, the work is their responsibility.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 1 Steeplejack Ct.
