"I grew up in this neighborhood, move d to Omaha for my job at age 25, moved back at age 55 to take care of my mom. It's one of the few places that had stayed very much the same. Good family neighborhood."

"I've lived here 13 years. This is a beautiful area and neighborhood. There are many historic homes that are works of art in themselves. Walking around is very pleasant and relaxing. A safe neighborhood too. Nearby elementary and middle schools are some of the best in the city."

"We've lived here for two years now and love our neighborhood. It's quiet, the people are friendly, and it has easy access to downtown, I-80, and south Lincoln shopping areas. Two bus lines run through the neighborhood too. It's a great place to live."

"We moved here in 2012, and we love it. The neighborhood is very quiet, except for the noise of kids playing on summer evenings, and who minds that? The people are friendly. Almost all of the houses are well-kept. The location is especially good because downtown and the Haymarket are a quick 5 minute drive, I-80 via US 77 is right nearby, and any and every kind of shop or store you might want is within 10 minutes as well. Public transit is great in this area too. Two routes are within a 5 minute walk of most of the houses in the neighborhood. The neighborhood association sponsors a community garden, garage sale, and garden tour each year. It's a great neighborhood for walking the dog too. Some spots lack sidewalks, but the streets are usually quiet enough that it's not an issue to walk along the edge of the street. There is super easy access to the Helen Boosalis trail, which connects to the main Rock Island trail heading downtown, or the Tierra Williamsburg trail heading south. It's an easy bike ride to the Salt Creek and Bison trails also. We highly recommend this area to retirees, professionals, families with kids...pretty much anyone! It is quaint, but doesn't have the stodgy feel of the Country Club neighborhood, which is right next door. There's a beautiful church along 17th Street, and plenty of nearby parks. It's just a great place to live. We love it here, and we always feel safe. Crime is virtually unheard of, and neighbors watch out for neighbors."
