"This is a safe area near a church and the post office. No children live near the area though and the area is dimly lit for walkers."

"Lots and lots and lots of trees, wildlife, creeks, fast cars, snobby neighbors, no sidewalks, muddy trails."

"We live very close to the lake, just off Upper Drive. I like the tall trees that shade this area in the summer, and makes our air temperature (along with the lake effect) cooler by 5-10 degrees compared with other areas of Portland. I like belonging to a boating easement, which is very valuable to me as I like to kayak! It also makes our property worth more than comparable houses that are not in an easement area. In terms of schools, ours are among the best in the nation, with LOHS 4th in the state. We have trails nearby, including the Iron Mountain Trail and a pathway around the lake. Lake Grove is undergoing a shift financed by bonds that will give it even more of a village atmosphere. We have award winning restaurants. Some of our favorites are Riccardo's, Babica Hen, Gubancs, La Provence, Singha Thai, Jefe, and all within easy walking distance. Lake Oswego has a lot of civic services and cultural events all year round. A super place to live and to bring up a family!!"

"Have lived here for 20 years. Oswego Lake is nearby, and most properties in area have deeded easement to boating easements for this private lake. Most subdivisions do not have that access, with the exception of Village on the Lake. First Addition, way too expensive in my mind for lack of sidewalks, narrow lanes and chaotic parking, does not have access to private Oswego Lake. Further, the Lake Grove Village area is becoming a destination for fine dining and high end grocery shopping (Zupans, New Seasons). There is a walking path along Upper Drive and Lakeview that extends clear around the lake to downtown Lake Oswego. Further, there is the walking path along Iron Mountain Boulevard to downtown. Then, there is the little-known trail along the old mining route from the top of Iron Mountain down to the golf course area. Superb! For those who join an easement, there is kayaking, canoeing and boating on a private lake, Oswego Lake. This is reserved for lakefront owners and easement members only. Except, lakefront owners pay over a million for just their property, have high taxes and upkeep for their dock and bulkhead; easement members are not taxed on their lake access privilege. The Lake Grove area is shaded during the summer, and is usually 5-10 degrees cooler than, say, Beaverton. During the winter, for those living near the lake in Lake Grove, they are recipients of winter sun reflecting off the lake, which makes it seem warmer than those houses on the south side of the lake which can remain in shadow a part of the day. Many areas of Lake Grove are flat, so one doesn't worry about slides or water buildup from being on the "wrong side" of the street. The city area of Lake Grove vs. the county area of Lake Grove has higher taxes, but the county area is largely septic tanks, and of course, the roads are not kept up by the city as it is county property."

"I love living here because it offers an extremely to find combination of walking friendly, close to restaurants, shops, schools, public transport, yet quiet and a landscape that feels like a park."
