Rory Kennedy, the filmaker and producer – and youngest of the eleven children of U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy and his wife Ethel – has just purchased a large, private ocean view estate in Malibu, California. Bank-owned prior to her purchase, Kennedy’s final purchase price was $2.9 million. According to property records, she closed on the four-bedroom, four-bathroom, 4,803 square foot home on January 25, 2013.
Located on Malibu’s famed Point Dume, Kennedy’s new purchase is a sprawling single-story home on large flat, private ocean view lot. The master suite comes complete with a fireplace and beamed ceilings, with deck overlooking mature trees and ocean views. A separate, three-bedroom children’s wing also features a family or play room. A sunny kitchen opens to large family room with rich hardwood floors. The home’s backyard features huge entertaining patios and an ocean-view pool and spa. The gated property is rounded out by a three-car-garage.
Based primarily in Brooklyn, New York, and often seen at the Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, Kennedy is either buying a West Coast vacation home or relocating permanently with husband Mark Bailey and their three young children.
