Bye-Bye, Bird Streets!

Jodie Foster sells in the Hollywood Hills.

Bye-bye, Bird Streets!

Jodie Foster just sold her Hollywood Hills mansion in the famed Bird Streets after struggling to find a buyer. She listed the spread for $6,400,000 in June 2013 and it languished on the market for more than a year. It took a couple price chops to get the deal done. Property records show the deal closed on October 6, 2014, for $4,995,000.

Foster purchased the home in 1995 from model Cheryl Tiegs. With a distinguished address and oodles of famous neighbors, Foster’s Spanish villa was the ultimate celebrity hideaway for the notoriously private actress.

The home has 4 bedrooms, 4 full and 2 half bathrooms, an office, and an attached guest suite. Adjacent to a formal dining room, a butler’s pantry leads to a stunning kitchen. A luxurious master suite features a sitting area, walk-in closets, fireplace, and sauna.

Outside, the central courtyard pool and brick patio are shielded by a high-reaching hedge for the utmost seclusion — a must for the notoriously private Foster, who had never publicly discussed her private life until she outed herself in an emotional speech while accepting a lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes.

In other real estate moves, Foster sold her Beverly Hills mansion for $8,300,000 in January 2012 and purchased a 5-bedroom, 6-bathroom, 3,752-square-foot home in Beverly Hills for $11,750,000 on June 25, 2012.
