Could This Be Jim Carrey's Next High-Priced Bachelor Pad?

Swank bachelor pads are all the rage for Hollywood’s A-list. When there isn’t a woman in the picture, it’s pretty much assumed that Hollywood’s high rollers will be living large in an ultra-posh bachelor pad. After his recent split with Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher was seen spending hours at a $10.8m Hollywood Hills hideaway. Now, we’re hearing rumblings that the latest unmarried actor on the hunt for his perfect home is none other than funnyman Jim Carrey.

Carrey has been on a lengthy hunt for New York City pads in the $5-$8 million dollar range, but he recently decided to step it up a notch and toured a lavish $13.65 million dollar townhome at 233 West 20th Street in the chic Chelsea neighborhood.

Clocking in at 6-bedrooms, 6 full and 4 half bathrooms and more than 7,000 square feet, the listing claims that “no detail has been overlooked in the painstaking renovation of this 25-foot wide townhouse.” While the home was built in 1824, the upgrades make this home seem brand new. Stretched over six luxuriously appointed floors, plus a garden level, this home makes ingenious use of its size.

Upon entering the townhome, a grand entrance foyer with an oversized passenger elevator welcomes visitors and a bright and cheerful living room beckons. One flight above is the grand master suite, including two full bathrooms and an enormous windowed dressing room. Above, four additional bedrooms, and three more bathrooms round out the living quarters. A separate retreat atop the house are perfect for entertaining; here, a family room and parlor, connected via a kitchen, is designed for privacy and comfort. Crowning this magnificent New York City home is a sun-soaked solarium, flanked by terraces to the north and south.

At the garden level, you’ll find a spectacular custom-designed Neff kitchen that opens fluidly into the adjacent garden. This level also houses a staff room with en suite bath.

If Carrey does decide to make an offer, he’d be the proud owner of one enviable and over-the-top bachelor pad.
