Jennifer Lawrence Sells Her Santa Monica Starter Home

The Oscar winner is saying goodbye to her modest pre-fame pad.

When you’re Hollywood’s favorite “It” girl, it’s finally time to upgrade your living situation. And that’s just what Academy Award–winning actress and your fantasy best friend Jennifer Lawrence is doing: She just sold her two-bedroom, three-bathroom townhouse in Santa Monica, CA, for $1.15 million. Jennifer bought the starter digs back in 2006 for $879,000. (That was B.O. — before her Oscar for Silver Linings Playbook.)

Move-in ready and measuring 1,413 square feet, the contemporary-style townhouse is a cozy space with light hardwood floors and recessed lighting. The spacious, open living room has a fireplace and large windows, and the separate dining area opens out to a patio area, perfect for gathering with friends or enjoying a drink after work. The kitchen has a clean, polished look, with granite countertops and new stainless steel appliances. High, vaulted ceilings make for an open, spacious master bedroom and en-suite master bathroom. Outside, the master bedroom’s balcony overlooks the sunny streets of Santa Monica.

With Jennifer’s career riding high, the blond beauty ditched this smaller property for an $8.225 million Beverly Hills, CA, mansion back in 2014. That home had previously been owned by everyone from Jessica Simpson and Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan to Ellen DeGeneres and Rick Yorn, manager of Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz. Talk about a hot property!
