NBA World Champion Buys Mansion in Southampton

The NBA lockout is over, salaries are flowing again, and that only means one thing to real estate watchers – big-name NBA stars are making some big home purchases. It’s just been uncovered by the New York Post that Jason Kidd is the newest kid on the block in Southampton, NY. Although he spends the basketball season dribbling for the champion Dallas Mavericks, Kidd wanted an East Coast abode. He found it in the 5,500-square-foot, six-bedroom, six-bathroom home that was once rumored to be Jennifer Lopez’s first big post-Marc Anthony purchase.

Under contract with Kidd for $5,975,000, the home at 100 Flying Point Road in tony Water Mill, is located “just a bike ride to the Flying Point ocean beaches.” The home is custom-built with modern interior style designed around a clean lines, European fixtures, and a impeccable attention to detail. The 5,500 square-feet include master and guest suites fit for a king (or a Maverick). The master suite includes sitting room, fireplace, and balcony. The additional 2,300 square feet lower level includes staff suite and recreational areas.

The property itself is open and expansive. Just shy of 2 acres, Kidd’s new home includes a heated gunite pool, an all weather tennis court, a beautiful pool house with cabana kitchen, bar, full bath, outdoor shower, and a fireplace. The separate carriage house is also located on the property and can accommodate 2 cars and has space above that could be used for a gym, office, or play room.

In other Jason Kidd real estate news, we just reported that Kidd currently has his Dallas condo on the market for $1,595,000.
