One of the world’s most incredible ‘mega-mansions’ just had a mega sale!
The world famous ‘Fleur De Lys’ mansion in the Beverly Hills enclave of Holmby Hills just sold to ‘junk bond king’ Michael Milken for $102 million IN CASH, as first reported by Lauren Beale at the Los Angeles Times.
Fleur De Lys was sold by socialite Suzanne Saperstein, who custom-built the mansion in 2002 with her then-husband, Metro Networks founder and billionaire David Saperstein. They divorced just three years after the home was completed and she received the property as part of her divorce settlement. She first listed property in 2007 for $125 million and never once wavered on the asking price.
The estate is 50,000 square feet of living space, which includes innumerable rooms, a 3,000 square foot wine cellar, a grand ballroom, a marble-floored two-story entry hall, gold paneled ceilings and much more grandeur.
Outside, two motor courts, a 600-foot tree-lined driveway, a pool, spa and sprawling lawns are just mere highlights of the 4.6 acre estate.
As the LA Times reported, Michael Milken bought the home through an LLC tied to the Milken Institute in Santa Monica, a nonpartisan think tank chaired by the businessman and philanthropist.
Los Angeles-based super agent Kurt Rappaport of the Westside Estate Agency represented Saperstein in the sale and Fred Bernstein, also of the Westside Estate Agency, represented the Milken, who reportedly beat out billionaires from England and China in a bidding war for the pricey estate.
