What Locals Say about San Lorenzo

  • Leslie Montano
"Unleashed dogs are common within the neighborhood. People are also walking dogs at all hours including late nights "

"This area is wonderful. A good sense of community and is a bubble from the surrounding cities. I love living here"

"You will never feel safe to walk alone. At any time of the day. Especially as a 13 year old female. The community isn’t great - neighborhoods could be closer. Everyone is isolated. I’ve been chased home multiple times and the education out here is horrible. That’s all, thank you."

"Good area quiet and calm, my two door neighbors are nice and welcoming. The other side near San Leandro is a bit more sketchy. Stay out of Walmart."

"It’s a family oriented neighborhood with schools and stores close by. Tree lined streets and one of the best parks in the east bay"

"Tree lined streets with mid century homes and a sense of neighborhood for us. With our property values rising to all time highs makes it more tempting to consider moving but we love it here."

"San Lorenzo is a beautiful community that is hidden right in the center of the Bay Area."

"Great area and schools, but only two small strip malls near by, but a Mall not very far away and not a lot of traffic, mostly local people. Neighborhood watch program and Home Owners Association C & R's enforced rules. Homes resell fast."

  • Janet M.
"I moved here a year ago and feel safe enough to walk in the middle of the night. Not that I plan to walk then but just that I can is big deal for me. Never any rif-raf here. My neighbors are quiet. The houses and lawns are kept up nicely. Great neighborhood for families, couples and retirees but I wouldn't recommend it to active singles who want to walk to restaurants or bars. Aside from 99 Chinese, at the corner of Channel and Grant, there aren't any places to eat within about a mile."
