I would stay away from buying a home if you don't have the income to make the payments, even if you can get a loan. Your best bet would be to rent. I would not cosign for anyone unless I was absolutely sure that they a) would stay current with payments, b) had the ability to make the payments. Cosigners are best for credit cards and car loans. You'll be better off waiting until you can buy a home with your own assets and income. Probably not the answer you were hoping for, but good luck on finishing Med School. ... more
