Your best bet is to find a competent agent to do your foot work. Check out MLS# 51735,52892,53647,52159,51867,53656. Good luck.

The Bitterroot valley has many subdivisions with covenants that say you cannot have chickens. Ideally You would want to find a parcel that has "No Covenants". And, the problem is when you are searching it is not usually advertised that it has "No Covenants". I would recommend having a Realtor to do a search for you. On the buying side it doesn't cost you anything additional to work with a Realtor as commissions are typically paid from the seller.

Hello Kim,

Your best bet would be to start with realty agencies that specialize in Equestrian Real Estate. While within my searches I found real estate for sale, I did not see properties outright for lease (though my search was just a quick scan). A local Realtor specializing is horse properties, will have more complete local data and may know what local sellers are flexible & willing look into a lease option in the meantime.

Also I would suggest you inquire within you Equestrian Community, with other owners, shop owners etc, as they may also have some leads for you on possible availability.

Best to you in your endeavors,

Most local real estate association operate a multiple listing service through which buyers and sellers can obtain the most recent information on homes currently available for sale, pending or contingent sales, and up to date info on recent sold properties. Contact a trustowrthy real estate agent in your area to find out the latest info about the market in the neighborhood you're looking at. ... more
