Hi Alisa,

I recommend that you take a drive through the neighborhood once in the morning, afternoon and evening Monday through Friday and then one day on the weekend. I also recommend that you knock on some of the homeowners doors and introduce yourself as someone who is looking to purchase a home in the neighborhood an would like to ask them a few questions about the area. This will enable you to get a good feel for the area and determine first hand if it is right for you and your family. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Warmest Regards,

If you are alone in your car (non-car pool lane) and it's around 4:30 - 6:30pm and it's raining, it can take 25-30 minutes to get to downtown Walnut Creek from Bollinger in San Ramon. If you have to go further than the South Walnut Creek exit, like Treat Blvd, add another 10 minutes. ... more

Road noise always has a detrimental effect on house values. How much it bothers you depends on how sensitive you are to it. In practice, after you have lived there a few months you may not notice it but you absolutely have to consider the fact that you will want to sell it one day and the road noise will probably be worse then as traffic in San Ramon is increasing.

It may seem reasonably priced and If you have an agent (which you should, to protect your interests), he or she should be able to show you if it really is good value for money. If the road noise is significant, the effect on true value will also be significant.

If you want an assessment of the value, let me know and I will be happy to help.

Interesting thought! We could not only network but perhaps have a monthly "task" to bring ideas and research on useful topics such as SNO (social networking optimization) within our own blogsites etc. We could all gain useful knowledge plus (to quote the Wizard of Oz) - "embark on a technically unexplainable journey and hobnob with our fellow wizards". ... more
