Hi Stephanie,

There are a variety of great homes available in your price range in Portsmouth. The area you should focus on really depends on what you are looking for.

Would you like to be close to Portsmouth's downtown with shopping, nightlife, and restaurants?
Are you looking for a historic home or newer construction?
Close to the Ocean?
Are the major traffic arteries important?

If you would like assistance in your home buying please give me a call. I would be happy to help you.

Danny i would need to know the address so i can look it up for you. Your best bet is to ask teh listing agent. you may also want to pull up the plot plan and tax map at Salem Townhall. Then you will want to ask them at townhall to see the flood map and they can show you what area's are considered in teh 100 year flood plain. You shoudl have a buyers agent who can assist you with this. Please feel free to email me at if you need assistance. good luck with your search. ... more

I would defiantly say Seabrook, NH. It's the closest town to Boston in NH, right on the ocean, schools are good, lots of shopping and one of the lowest property taxes in southern NH. I personally live in Seabrook and know the area well. Other areas to consider a little farther north is Hampton Falls, Hampton and Rye, all on the ocean. Please contact me if you'd like to let me know what your looking for and I can help you find it!

Check with your city or county tax assessor's office. Either in person or, very often, online. Property ownership is a matter of public record. You'll be able to obtain both the name and address (and sometimes the phone number) of the owner of record. ... more

Currently I think this market favors buyers. But don't leave out the savvy sellers who know what they are doing. Even in markets that have not made the complete shift, buyers now have more options and are able to request more from the sellers than they were even six months ago. ... more

Do you want/need to be on the ocean? Seems to me that Salem, NH might be a more convenient location. Would you be commuting to Boston Metro?
