Hi, Elise -

It's a good idea to interview a Realtor before you hire one. While distance could be a factor, more important than the distance is the Realtor's knowledge of the neighborhood. Maybe the Realtor lived or worked in the town or has relatives there. A sample of other interview questions for a broker...How long have you been a Realtor? Are you full time? How many homes did you and your brokerage sell last year? What type of support and supervision does your borkerage office provide you? What specific marketing systems and approaches will you use? How will you keep me informed about the progress of my transaction?

I would be happy to answer these questions for you about my business and about what I could do for you...call me!

If a home is priced right, it can sell in a day or two! Staging is an important factor in getting a home to sell quickly. While a home could be in move-in condition, if it is decorated in a "theme" that is not suitable to buyers, they won't buy. I once showed a home that was in nice condition for the asking price...the owners were hunters and had "trophies" throughout the home...several deer heads mounted, even a bear...the buyer wouldn't even go in!

I would be happy to talk to you more about what makes a home sell.

Asa,

I also read something along those lines. I was reading an article this week, in the Wall Street Journal or New York Times or New York Law Journal or Metro Newspaper (I cannot remebmer exactly which source). An official from HUD commented that the Obama administration will continue their work in assisting the housing market in becoming more stable. But said there might be a possiblitly in the future that there would or could be a new housing credit. But the interview was very vague.

Keep us posted, if you hear anything.

You need to fill out a form and call the town clerk (Kelly Eskew) at 744-2029.

this is the link to her page where you can download the form. Details for fees and deposits are on this form as well. This applies to both parks--the one on Lybolt and on Red Mills.

Good luck and have a great time!

There is the Metro North that travels from Beacon to 42nd Street in Grand Central Station. There is a park and ride and shuttle that takes you from Montgomery to the Beacon train station. There are also buses from Montgomery that takes you to Penn Station in the City. No matter what town you are in Orange County there will be a bus or train that goes into Manhattan. A majority of buyers are purchasing homes in Orange County and are commuting back to the city for work. Please let me know if you have any fruther questions ... more
