Hello Ayers Family

You can go online and search contractor's in your area and get a few for estimates. Check the contractor's reviews and compare prices. You can also post for referrals in your choice social media. You might get a response from someone who had coffered ceiling done in their home and refer you to a contractor. Hope these tips help you.

Thanks

Check with a financial advisor.

My gut reaction is "no." It wouldn't be a good idea. You're assuming, I suppose, that a condo would somehow be a good investment. Further, you're assuming that you could tap it in a few years for a reverse mortgage, yet you say that your Pennsylvania condo wouldn't work for a reverse mortgage. So how would the factors regarding a Jersey condo be much different?

Plus, you say your savings are dwindling. You do need a way to free up cash. But tieing up a lot of cash in buying a condo may not be the way to go.

So: Check with a financial planner.

Hope that helps.

Make it look as good as you can for the least amount of money, and price it right and it will sell. This is what you did, and there will be someone out there just like you who will want it for the same reason. You will never get the dollar value of what you spend on upgrades back in return. At least put it on the market to see what people have to say before doing anything. ... more

Jennifer Daywalt answered:
Good Evening Laura,

I am the Top Realtor in Phoenixville. Realtors are not EVER allowed to tell you anything about a neighborhood. I have a few suggestions for you if you have a concern...

Drive through the area at various times including the weekdays and the weekends, evenings, during the day and when the kids are getting home from school. Also speak with the Phoenixville Police Department and they will be able to give you crime statistics for any particular neighborhood.

I believe I know exactly which house you are referencing and it was just reduced in price again this weekend. If you do not have a Buyer's Agent now would be the time to get one for yourself. It cost you absolutely nothing to have representation. A buyer's agent will look out for your best interest and will also keep you advised on homes on the market and any price changes.

If you need assistance or have questions feel free to contact me.
