Both the city of Jacksonville and Orlando, where most of the large businesses are located, are about an hour to an hour and a half drive from Palm Coast. This area is bustling with activity if you like outdoor activities, what is nice about Palm Coast is that it is centrally located to other great areas. St. Augustine is just a half hour drive and is known for its history, and is a wonderful cultural area, Daytona Beach of course is known for the beach, NASCAR, Bike Week, but it also a great art community. Then of course we are not that far from the Orlando area, which of course is Disney, Seaworld, Universal Studios, great concert and sport venues.
Just to give you some perspective, Palm Coast is a just a little bit older than yourself, and is a growing community, and yes home prices are great here due to slow economy, but things are heading in the right direction. We are starting to see more restaurants, shopping and other venues coming to the city.
What I myself like best are the amazing biking and walking trails located throughout the city and into Flagler Beach. If you would like some more information on the area, give me a call/text me.

I recommend contacting a local contractor in the area. Most will be happy to come out and give a free estimate. I haven't seen too many contractors on Trulia so you may not get any qualified answers in a reasonable period of time. If you need the names of some, I can help. I have an agent in my office who has been a General Contractor for 18+ years and knows everybody from Miami to Jax. Let me know if I can help~

Good Evening Anthony,

I have never noticed yellow tap water in the Palm Coast area. I go out to eat and show property on a consistent basis in Palm Coast. Unsure what might have caused it to turn yellow within your hotel. I can tell you Palm Coast is a beautiful area, with great beaches, and very affordable housing. If you would like more information about Palm Coast, the surrounding area, and real estate in the area please don't hesitate to contact me.

Jeff, yes you can dredge with the proper permits. The dredging company would or should take care of the permits.

There are lots of great opportunties in Florida right now. I sell in Brevard County. Lots in some areas are selling for pennies on the dollar. There is still lots of vacant land and until builders can start building again it will not go up in value. I think it will be years before we see the growth like 2005-2006. Houses right now are a better investment. Lots of flipppers are out hunting for the bargains and making money. Please contaaaact me if you would like more information about Brevard County. ... more

Congrats on your new home purchase. Sounds like you got a great buy. It really depends on some other factors such as age of the home, construction, sq. footage. etc.. etc... However, that is the on the lower end of the median price range of sales in that section. If you would like me to do a comparative market analysisi on you home contact me with your home address and I could email it over.

Have a great day!
